What is the general format of an article?
A Neighborhood Guide should consist of 8-10 articles encompassing different themes ranging from convenient tips, restaurants, nightlife, routes, outdoor adventure, cultural activities and more. For the general list-type article, there should be an article title, a header paragraph and 3-5 recommendations for every article. Each recommendation must include a creative 4-6 line description for each place.
The appearance of the articles is very important, so consider the following formatting order:
Title. Titles are very important. Make sure they are creative, do not exceed 50 characters, catchy and explicit. Use terms like “nearby the hotel,” or “around the neighborhood.” Remember to add names of districts, neighborhoods, cities and hotels while utilizing SEO (Search Engine Optimization) influenced words relating to the article topic.
Header. Your article summary/abstract. Include 4-6 lines of text as an introduction paragraph to creatively introduce the article topic you will be writing about.
Place Tagged 1. This is the title of the place tagged which you can select from the drop-down menu using @ to search followed by typing in the location name. Important: Tagged places are to be used for recommendations, DON'T tag the destination or city.
Header H2. Once you have pinned the location on the map, highlight the location name and select the H2 option from the editor's top toolbar. This will allow the location name to have a higher SEO ranking.
Text for Place Tagged 1. Should be concise but informative in 4-6 lines responding to why the hotel recommends each place. Paragraphs should include information such as: a creative overview of why the guest would want to go there, approximate price level, dress-code, types of stores, type of food they can find, etc. You can also include information about how to arrive from the hotel. For example “you can find this restaurant only two blocks from the hotel on Av. Larco.”
Photo for Place Tagged 1. Must be high-quality, appealing and related to the content. Remember readers want quality articles, so avoid using blurry, dark, or low-quality photos.
Photo Caption. Caption photos with the following structure: Source: Image Title - Image Author - City, Country Ie.) Facebook: Fresh Steak - Lolo’s Restaurant - New York, United States
